At KH Plant Training, our mission is to honour and empower those who have bravely served our country. As a veteran with over ten years of military service, Kieron Honeyman and the team of veterans at KH Plant Training totalling 75 years military service know firsthand the challenges that come with transitioning from the structured world of the armed forces to civilian life. The team’s determination to give back forms the heart of our veterans’ initiatives.
Many veterans leave the military with a wealth of knowledge, skills, discipline, and leadership experience—qualities that often go unrecognized in civilian job markets. Despite years of exemplary service, the lack of civilian-recognized qualifications can hinder career progression and fair compensation. We aim to help bridge that gap.
Since 2021, our annual Veterans Day has been a cornerstone event. On this special day, we offer free testing specifically for veterans with experience in industry for certain items of plant, for some of the courses on offer that day experience is not required. Our commitment extends beyond the training room. As a company founded and run by military veterans, we ensure that our programs are enriched by firsthand military insight. This dedication has been acknowledged through our Gold Award in the Armed Forces Employment Recognition Scheme. Furthermore, we have partnered with local veteran charities such as MCVC and Help for Homeless Heroes to:
In 2025, our efforts were further recognised through the Veterans’ Can grant. The grant attracted dozens of applicants nationwide, with the final five shortlisted featured on the BBC’s One Show in June. From that shortlist, KH Plant Training were one of two recipients who were awarded £10,000. With this support, we worked closely with partner companies to create roles specifically for veterans, fully funding all the tickets and qualifications required. As a result, we successfully placed four veterans into full-time, meaningful employment with respected companies.
Every veteran’s story is one of sacrifice, resilience, and honour. At KH Plant Training, we are committed to transforming those stories into successful new chapters in civilian life. By recognising the value of military experience and helping veterans secure the qualifications they need, we’re not only thanking them for their service—we’re investing in their futures.
This grant will allow us to fully train and place 4 veterans into meaningful roles created by our participating partner companies — roles designed specifically to utilize their skills, discipline, and experience.

We are honoured to announce our upcoming Veterans Day 2026 event, taking place on 4th July 2026. This special day will recognise and celebrate the service, dedication, and sacrifices made by our veterans across the country.
The event will bring together veterans, their families, supporters, and members of the community for a day of reflection, appreciation, and unity. Activities, presentations, and opportunities to connect will form part of the programme, with full details to be released closer to the date.
We look forward to welcoming everyone as we pay tribute to those who have served and continue to serve.
In 2023, we undertook the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for help homeless veterans and the MCVC charity in Rotherham. After 10 hours of battling tough weather and pushing our limits, we successfully raised over £6,000, which was evenly distributed between the two charities.
