Aim

This 1 day introductory Health & Safety Awareness classroom based course is for those who are new to the construction industry. It helps increase your knowledge of the main health and safety issues on construction sites and how these affect your role. It is  also recommended as a health and safety refresher of knowledge after 5 years.

Course content

By the end of the course you will be able to

• Identify workers individual responsibilities for their own safety and the safety of others
• Identify typical construction hazards and how these are controlled
• Identify how everyone can help achieve better practical standards of safety on site
• Increase knowledge of the law, legal requirements and liabilities

• manual handling
• fire prevention
• work equipment
• occupational health

Certification 

The health and safety awareness course is a requirement in obtaining your CSCS green labourers card.  You must have also completed the health safety and environmental touch screen test within the last 2 years to apply for your CSCS card. Upon successful completion you will receive a CITB HSA certification for 5 years from the date of the course.
