Emergency First Aid at Work

This one day course is aimed at delegates in the workplace who may find themselves needing to take charge of and manage emergency first aid skills in the absence of a first aider. This is designed for delegates working in the workplace deemed low risk in the event an emergency should occur. The aim of the course is to provide delegates with adequate confidence and knowledge to deal with any accident that may occur until a first aider or a professional within the emergency services arrives at the scene.

By the end of the course, delegates should be able to have knowledge of:

  • Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
  • How to assess an incident and manage an emergency
  • Providing first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Dealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock
  • Communication and casualty care
  • Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations
  • First aid skills in adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Adult seizures
  • Adult choking
  • Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

Written assessment and continuous observations of candidates by our fully qualified first aid instructors. Candidates need a basic command of English. We may be able to make specific arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact our office on 01709 963312 for any guidance and/or queries.

Upon completion, delegates will receive certification of attendance and completion of the course, accredited by Highfield accreditation which last for three years.
